CLEVA CRETE 842 MVRA

CLEVA CRETE 842 MVRA

CLEVA CRETE 842 MVRA is  an AS1478.1 – 2000 certified admixture engineered to address moisture vapour issues in resilient flooring finishes.

Introduced either at the batch plant or directly into concrete trucks at the job site, the admixture integrates into the concrete matrix before pouring.

It disrupts typical capillary formation during curing, creating a permanent moisture barrier throughout the concrete’s lifespan.

Tailored for the flooring industry, it prevents problematic moisture vapour egress, allowing for commercial flooring installation within 14 days of pouring the concrete.

The result is the elimination of risks associated with adhesive deterioration due to moisture vapour and enhanced durability for all floor coverings installed on the modified slab.

842 MVRA Moisture Vapour Reducing Admixture Project

TECHNOLOGY HISTORY

This CSH technology has been utilised in the US and Europe to completely resolve the moisture issues in concrete for over thirty-five years. It was originally used by the Romans for the last three centuries for most major projects ie. Colosseum, the Pantheon Roof and Aqueducts, and rediscovered in the early 1900’s by the American Army Corp of Engineers for the Hoover Dam project that has a 1000-year design life.

In Australia, CLEVA CRETE 842 MVRA was introduced to the Australian market in 2020 after nine years of extensive R&D into the correct formulations for the Australian market, using Australian only raw materials.

It is the ideal moisture / water proofer for a wide range of projects including schools, childcare centre, ambulance stations, aged care facilities, hospitals, major shopping complexes and multi-storey apartments.

CLEVA CRETE completely prevents moisture issues and is the protection of choice, being a risk-averse protocol, assuring all stakeholders against flooring failures and the associated delays, liability and frustration of dealing with unwanted moisture. Our 842 MVRA admixture also comes with a 25-year materials and labour warranty if we are found to be at fault of letting moisture vapour egress through the concrete slab and affect your flooring finishes.

A comprehensive range of international glues and adhesives have been used and are completely compatible for bonding flooring with the CLEVA CRETE 842 MVRA modified concrete.

WHEN WOULD YOU USE CLEVA CRETE 842 MVRA AS YOUR SOLUTION OF CHOICE?

If there is a project that you’re working on that has any resilient flooring, choose 842 MVRA.

For Example

  • Schools
  • Hospitals
  • Childcare Centres
  • Shopping Centres
  • Ambulance Stations
  • Fire Stations
  • Any Other Resilient Flooring Applications

DO I NEED A CURING COMPOUND IF CLEVA CRETE IS IN THE SLAB?

CLEVA CRETE admixtures do not require a curing compound over the top. CLEVA CRETE makes the entire slab retain the moisture within, providing the same result as a skin forming curing compound.

CLEVA CRETE admixtures are not the same as an AS 3799—1998 liquid membrane-forming curing compound in that we do not form a skin on top, but rather turn the free water into a gel that results in the entire slab retaining the moisture.

All standard procedures for pouring in cold, dry weather and in hot windy weather as advised by Cement Concrete & Aggregates Australia, should be adhered to, this means that many concrete finishers will keep the finished concrete wet till sundown.

In any concrete pour, high temperatures, winds and low humidity would require placement planning that include ‘Hot Weather’ considerations.

IF WE ARE REQUIRED TO LAY FLOORING 2 WEEKS AFTER THE POUR, WHAT ARE YOUR RECOMMENDATIONS?

You are able to lay commercial flooring within 14 days of the concrete pour as the concrete would be completely moisture and vapour proof, and the pH should be 8 or under which is what the adhesive supplier is looking for.

WILL WE BE ABLE TO PROVIDE A MOISTURE VAPOUR PROOF SUBSTRATE FOR FLOORING IF WE PUT 842 MVRA IN A 30-90MM SCREED ON TOP OF EXISTING CONCRETE?

Yes, any 30-90mm screed retrofitted over existing flooring will sufficiently contain all moisture under flooring if the CLEVA CRETE team receives a mix design and issues the correct dosage rate for such.
